I understand that many are annoyed with our father and mentor, Prof. Wole Soyinka, because of his personal political preferences, but those reasons should not be why you denigrate his lifelong work. He remains a giant amongst mortals.

Something occurred to me last weekend: while the younger Wole Soyinka may not have agreed with the older Wole Soyinka, he would have gone much further to prove him wrong through action, not words.

He was always a man of action. He created a group with a large following to address injustice and physically put himself at risk.

Talk is very cheap, action is more expensive. Museveni told his follwers that the younger Museveni would have taken out the older Museveni today and that younger people were cowards.

If you do not agree with Wole Soyinka now, it is understandable; build your own movement to rival his. People don't know when he is throwing a challenge to the younger generation and mistake it for disdain.
