Chronicle talks about handling the superteam expectations around Team Vitality:
"At the start, it wasn't really going pretty well. In some moments, it felt like just because of that pressure, and also because of that pressure with the previous systems we had, it was causing us a lot of trouble in the past.
But since we started to approach the game and the work mentality more towards actually not trying to expect a lot from ourselves as well, like again, the situation at the moment of the group stage after losing to BBL couldn't have been even worse, kind of.
So we just tried to actually stop caring about useless stuff. Like again, as you said, names, reputation, skill, all those sorts of things are just not important in the moment.
I always say that in many teams I was playing on, FNATIC especially for the past year, I was just consistently repeating it. Even though we kind of were a super team, we were consistently playing the games, and I was always repeating the same thing:
'Guys, just come to the game always not expecting yourself to win, and actually focus on the game itself. Always support each other, and that's it. Nothing else matters.'
And if you start believing in that idea, it will be easier for you, and your wins will be much more enjoyable.
Because believe me, when you have an expectation that you should be a winner, and you are winning a tournament or a match, it's not the same feeling, and you're not enjoying it as much as when you actually don't expect yourself to win, and maybe in a hard game, you are actually pulling it through.
That is a thousand times more emotion than you would ever have with other approaches and mentalities.
You don't always need to treat yourself, or put yourself, like a god or an unbeatable thing. We're all humans, first of all, and we could crumble even in this match right now if one moment goes wrong. Honestly, there could be a lot of moments like that.
So for me, I always tell my players right now, and I'm also asking them not to care about public opinion, because I know that recently we are being called a super team quite a lot, and I don't believe in that thing."
