I sometimes randomly remember some of my silly beliefs and mistakes in the past and just marvel at my grand stupidity.

I am grateful I am growing and becoming a better version of myself, but I am also aware that I may remember today in future and sigh out in guilt and grief.

So I must stay sober,
Because even when I believed and acted wrongly in the past, it seemed like everything was fine and I was sincere and right.

I must stay sober, keeping my heart open to God's corrections and instructions even when I think I am doing just fine.

I must stay sober, patiently believing the best of those whom God is also washing and cleansing unto maturity.

And I think anyone who is really heading towards increasing Christlikeness should have a similar experience.

Sadly, I am a slow learner. It takes me weeks to understand something that my friends grasp in days. OTOH, once I put the effort, I "really" get it!
