# ಪಂಚಮ (Panchama)
ಪಂಚಮ was a pioneering Kannada periodical of the Dalit movement in Karnataka and an important voice for social justice, equality, and anti-caste thought. Originally emerging in the mid-1970s, the magazine provided a platform for marginalized communities to document their experiences, articulate their aspirations, and engage in critical discussions on literature, politics, culture, and social change.

The title Panchama reclaimed the historical term used for communities placed outside the traditional caste hierarchy, transforming it into a symbol of dignity, resistance, and collective identity. Through reportage, essays, poetry, interviews, and literary contributions, the magazine played a significant role in shaping Kannada Dalit literature and public discourse in Karnataka.
