Over the past month, I've had and is having a wonderful experience learning and being a participant of Techrise 3.0. A 3-month bootcamp organized by the Abia state government in collaboration with Learn factory Ng. I'm learning AI/ML and I'll be posting how my journey has been.

One thing this Data Science journey is teaching me is that data can humble you. 😅
Recently, I worked on a massive Bank Marketing dataset containing over 41,000 customer records and 20+ features. At first glance, it just looked like rows upon rows of numbers and text. But the more I dug into it, the more I realized that raw data rarely tells its story on its own.
Before I could even think about machine learning, I had to clean the data, preprocess it, and prepare it for analysis. That meant dealing with inconsistencies, transforming variables into usable formats, checking relationships between features, and making sure the dataset was reliable enough to produce meaningful insights.
I'll admit, it wasn't the most glamorous part of the project. Spending hours working through thousands of records can feel repetitive. But when the visualizations started coming together, everything clicked. Patterns began to emerge: which customers were more likely to subscribe, how age and occupation influenced decisions, the effect of different contact methods, and even how timing played a role in campaign success.

This project reminded me that data preprocessing is where machine learning truly begins. A brilliant algorithm can only be as good as the data you feed it. Clean data leads to better models, better predictions, and ultimately better decisions.
Every project stretches me a little further, and this one definitely did. Looking back at where I started, it's encouraging to see how much progress I've made. There's still so much to learn, but that's the exciting part.
One cleaned dataset at a time.
One visualization at a time.
One step closer to becoming the data scientist I aspire to be.
