Going to be entertaining to watch the oil narrative slowly shift from “structural tightness” to an outright glut heading into ‘27, as producers desperate for revenue ramp output.
Meanwhile, oil bulls will continue to cling to Hormuz as if it’s a permanent feature of the bull case, when 2-years from now, the entire Hormuz premium will be nothing more than a distant memory, as countries around the world work to ensure they’re never again held hostage by a single chokepoint.
1. Build extremely capable autonomous agents.
2. Give them broad goals/rewards and substantial agency.
3. Use containment that the lab knows, or reasonably should know, is imperfect.
4. Agents discover unintended strategies.
5. Observe dramatic emergent behavior.
6. Publicize the incident as evidence that frontier AI presents extraordinary risks.
7. Advocate regulation requiring sophisticated containment, evaluations, monitoring, reporting, etc.
8. Those requirements are vastly easier for frontier incumbents to satisfy than smaller competitors.
@joshgessner Great content, Josh. One interesting observation after watching both videos is that he doesn't pronate like you do. He doesn't pronate much at all.
@friedmandave@carmenli@computeexchange Liquidity in the secondary market will grow as medium and small firms begin to train their own models. Once 'proprietary intelligence' becomes mainstream, there will be massive demand for compute.
@carmenli@computeexchange Also which GPUs lend themselves to increased efficiency as models optimize. Also geography in terms of politics, energy, and weather. It will be a factor model of residual value.
Latest Hormuz oil flow run shows more than 13.5 MMbpd clearing the Strait as of yesterday on a 7dma (and as regular readers will know, day-ago numbers are usually an undercount)
By far the biggest rise has come from Saudi Arabia's new Gulf loadings blitz.

If a deal emerges over the weekend I would not be surprised to see $BWET print a 4-handle on Monday. Traders are shifting to pricing in a future NAV with Hormuz returning to some normality.
