Voters who cast ballots: 2,277,093

Abstentions: 2,178,852

Null ballots: 35,325

Valid votes: 2,277,093 – 35,325 = 2,241,768

Vote distribution:

Candidate Issa TCHIROMA: 1,227,271 votes

Candidate Paul BIYA: 700,690 votes

Other 10 candidates: 2,241,768 – (1,227,271 + 700,690) = 313,807 votes
