Jon Snow, bleeding out from multiple stab wounds because he abused his powers as lord commander and let 8000 wildlings thru the wall: “In my defense, I was left unsupervised”
@HedaKhaleesi13 I’m sure the kingsguard that were committing treason by staying loyal to a disinherited prince, were in on what was likely a plot to overthrow the king, and were illegally imprisoning a lady of a great house cared a ton about the technicalities of the succession 👍
@SombraxRarity@bidonica1@DR3ADlady I think a big part was also about growing up w the fallout of Ned’s infidelity, probably felt similar intense irrational feelings to Jon about sexual honor & not siring bastards of his own. Even if she wasn’t actually pregnant, having risked it wasn’t something he could live with
@samanthatarly think it has to do with how targ incest is normalized (marriage & reproduction to keep bloodline pure) so brother sister affection is warped to be romantic/sexual. But there was no pressure to view their same sex siblings that way so it was mostly directed at healthier objects.
Anyone know why they decided to rename it Greytower Watch?? Was it named that in Aegon’s day or did hotd set designers just not like the sound of Greywater
@amueliart While it’s tempting to copy an art style of someone you admire when just starting out, it’s detrimental to your own art in the long run. It may feel like a shortcut, but you will improve much faster by looking at a wide variety of reverences and interpreting them yourself!
@SalehiHanieh Sjfjdj no I joke, he’s far beyond the moral event horizon 😂but it is a fun exercise to think how one might actually defend him, opens some useful moral questions like what metric are we using to determine that the Starks really have more of a right to the north than the Boltons
@doublehex168 Yeah I mean they always say winter is coming but it’s easy to assume it’s an exceptional winter in an otherwise normal cycle. But even if it was clear in the main series I think it would’ve been wise to remind everyone at the start of HOTD that it’s was still a thing back then.
While I don’t think it disproves the idea that Viserys slept with Alicent that night, useful to keep in mind, seasons in Westeros are long. As @MaloraHightower pointed out to me, “wed before the end of spring” could be a matter of years, not months. By no means a shotgun wedding
