Fix 1: He switched the picture mode from Vivid to Movie.

This was the single biggest change. One menu. One selection. The entire image transformed.
Every TV ships in "Vivid" or "Dynamic" mode. These modes crank saturation, boost contrast, and push brightness to maximum so the panel screams on a showroom shelf. Skin tones turn orange. Blue skies look radioactive. White walls glow. The picture looks impressive for 5 seconds and exhausting for 5 hours.

He switched it to "Movie" mode. On Samsung, it's Settings → Picture → Picture Mode → Movie. On LG, it's the same path. On Sony, it's called "Cinema." Every brand has an equivalent.

Movie mode dials everything back to the color temperature and brightness the content was actually mastered in. Skin tones look like skin. Shadows have detail instead of crushed blacks. Highlights stop clipping into white blobs.

He said most people have owned their TV for years in Vivid mode and never realized they've been watching a showroom demo in their bedroom. Movie mode is what the director intended you to see. It was one tap away for 3 years.
