Today we released a plan to return students to the classroom. I thank the entire community for playing their role in this return by getting vaccinated.
K-1 are first on 25 Oct.
All school staff will need to be vaccinated.
Will you be watching @AshBarty in the #Wimbledon final tonight?
Barty credits a strong mindset as key to her success.
So how can we all think like a champion? We spoke to Barty's very own mindset coach, Ben Crowe. #TheDrum
John Hattie ‘start contributing success of students to the expertise of teachers’. Lightbulb moment to promote the importance of the teaching profession. We are on the brink of a teacher shortage, this is one of the reasons. #haltsummit2021
"Wellbeing is a process from every bit of our being - our values, beliefs, our deepest intentions. Not just what we see on the surface."
- Dr Helen Street (@DrHelenStreet)

Embrace mistakes and ‘not knowing’ is a part of creating student psychological safety and agency as is making cube snakes at the HALT Conference #haltsummit2021 Another brilliant session from @drhelenstreet
Definitely in the right place at the @aitsl HALT Conference listening to the very knowledgeable Helen Street about the importance of developing Hope, self confidence and resilience in our students and staff @drhelenstreet#haltsummit2021
"HALTs are connected to the heart of schools – teaching students. They lead from the middle, connecting a principal’s vision to the daily work,” @DrJillWillis told @TheEducatorAU, which published a story on pioneering #HALT research by ISQ & QUT - https://t.co/PaOiKv04YI
@mraspinall Ensuring decision makers have spent time in schools to understand what is needed before making changes based on political reasons, rather based on students needs.
We need to have a national conversation about teaching consent in schools. The NSW Government changed the syllabus in 2018 after consultation so all students in NSW are explicitly taught about consent in an age-appropriate way.
The absolute responsibility of teaching summed up in these words: “I don’t care which books you teach as long as you remember one thing. The students are learning you. They will forget DH Lawrence. But you and your life they will remember.” (from Time to Think)
@PaulDBrowning When making decisions, I would often think about what my former Principal would do until it became my way of doing things. Good advice ;)
