Living in a constant state of pain and anguish due to a certain blue and white hockey team. Not John Tavares.

[Tohn Javares @_PyjamaBoy]

Very impressive and complete effort in their biggest test so far. Stars were great, you get goals from depth guys Stecher, MacEwen and Lettieri, Stolarz was dialled in all night and special teams were great yet again. What a win against a red hot Oilers team coming into tonight.

[Tohn Javares @_PyjamaBoy]

lol good on Lettieri for getting one

Craig Simpson after Willy sealed the game with the empty netter

[Tohn Javares @_PyjamaBoy]

Awwww the PK streak is over

[Tohn Javares @_PyjamaBoy]

MacEwen with his first! Drives the net and then gets his own rebound out of the air. He’s been great recently.

[Tohn Javares @_PyjamaBoy]

Insane puck movement before the Willy one timer. What a power play that was.

[Tohn Javares @_PyjamaBoy]

Cuthbert’s having a rough night with the names.

[Tohn Javares @_PyjamaBoy]

Figured they were going to get at least one. We got a game.

[Tohn Javares @_PyjamaBoy]

Duhaime and Blueger have not only been great at 5v5 recently but those two are elite penalty killers. You can’t help but love how hard they work.

[Tohn Javares @_PyjamaBoy]

Stolarz baby. Dialled in.

[Tohn Javares @_PyjamaBoy]

Think I’ve seen enough of Lettieri. Feels like every time they get a cycle going in the offensive zone and start hemming the other team in, he makes some low IQ play and it completely derails all momentum.

[Tohn Javares @_PyjamaBoy]

Would’ve liked to see the fight but I guess not. Good job, Sportsnet production.

ANOTHER STECHER SNIPE

[Tohn Javares @_PyjamaBoy]

Cowan slides it through the legs to Matthews and it’s 2-0. What a beautifully executed pass on the 2 on 1.

[Tohn Javares @_PyjamaBoy]

That was a real solid period on the road against these guys. They actually contained the Oilers’ big guys quite well.

[Tohn Javares @_PyjamaBoy]

Stolarz has been on it so far tonight.

[Tohn Javares @_PyjamaBoy]

What a pass by Matthews to spring Cowan and Roslovic away on the 2 on 1 and Roslovic capitalizes on the rebound.

[Tohn Javares @_PyjamaBoy]

Roslovic definitely didn’t mean to do that but that was a violent collision into the end boards for Walman.

[Tohn Javares @_PyjamaBoy]

Having all these injuries to the D pop up right before heading out on the road to play McDavid looking the best he’s ever looked is a recipe for disaster. Feels like a scheduled loss tomorrow night if they don’t score a boatload.

[Leafs PR @LeafsPR]

D Cole McWard and D Dakota Mermis have been recalled from the Toronto Marlies (AHL).

[Tohn Javares @_PyjamaBoy]

Crazy to see a bench reaction like that this early in the season. This team’s got the good vibes going for them unlike there’s been since early in the Matthews era. If they can bottle that and keep it going, we’re in for a fun season.
