I am deeply saddened to hear about the tragic helicopter crash in Ghana that has taken the lives of the Minister of Defense, the Minister of Environment, and the entire crew.
My heartfelt condolences go out to His Excellency President Mahama, @JDMahama and the people of Ghana during this incredibly difficult time. Please know that the people of Sierra Leone stand in solidarity with you as you mourn this profound loss. We are with you in your grief.
If not for galamsey and the devastating impact it continues to have on our lands, there would be no need to fly a helicopter just to attend a program today.
Do we remember Captain Maxwell Mahama, who was brutally killed at Denkyira Obuasi? Do we remember why he was deployed there in the first place?
This is a clear sign that it’s about time the President declares a State of Emergency on Galamsey.
RIP to all the great men we’ve lost in the fight against this national canker. 😭💔🪦🕊️
