Corkwing wrasse are one of our more common and colourful species. In the breeding season males flush a bold red with bright blue facial markings. In winter their colours become more muted but large shoals of them are always lovely to see!
My second PhD field expedition was a success, with stunning sunsets, plenty of juvenile fish (although not as many sole as expected 🤔), and amazing students. Thanks to @benciotti, @DevonSevernIFCA , @PlymBioMarSci and @ARIES_DTP for their support 🐟 Now, off on holidays !
