@Uncle__Monty@MattWalshBlog I hear you, but I think I’d almost prefer he spend a few more years with some of our finest fellow criminals, who might be a tad judgey about his crimes.
Honestly, yes, eventually. I’m sure I would initially have an instinct to want the offender to suffer - but my initial emotional response at that time just wouldn’t be a sound basis for a moral decision of that magnitude. I don’t think we can let families of victims decide sentences, there’s too much trauma and emotion in it.
Revenge is one thing, but we need to ask how we got here. I fear that the sheer volume of people now being raised into adults devoid of empathy or feeling, is too high for humanity to survive much beyond another generation or so. We need to urgently examine the disappearance of empathy, and then prioritise turning it around.
Laura you have real merit to a lot that you say, and credibility with many of the stories you break - but saying something absolutely horrifically offensive to many people like that doesn’t do you any favours. That’s a disgusting thing to say. I can’t stand Candace, but leave her skin colour out of it. You don’t honour Charlie speaking about him as though he were some sort of white supremacist, either.
Frankly a couple of your posts read like actual BPD rants.
This is the problem when we platform people and put them on pedestals based on their trauma or marginalisation. We have no idea how sound of mind they are or aren’t, how intelligent or otherwise, their ethics or morals. It’s happening time and time again, people being given awards largely because of what they’ve survived, not their success in life - then they turn out to be a high-risk public figure who has all sorts of unexpected views and vulnerabilities. I sometimes wish we would go back to a time where suffering saw you receive empathy and support, but not necessarily awards.
@EYakoby@MarthaThomas20 That’s all of noble intent, but the hard part for the girls is that they know if they don’t return, their family is at risk - some of them may have made a conscious choice not to risk that; and may wish to return.
It’s all fun and games until you have daughters who will inherit the world you destroyed with your left wing righteousness and abandonment of all basic, fundamental morals and values. It’s a privilege to be able to be so stupid without consequence to you personally. But the consequences were coming for most of us or our grandchildren if these regimes and their ambitions weren’t stopped now.
@StephenKing What part of the Iranian regime falling is the worst part for you? Because I’m sure they could use your help if you want to pop over and volunteer.
@larissawaters Unbreakable? Rape of Jews only had to become a leftist cause and she was screaming for the Antifada for god’s sake. I’d say she broke pretty easily if her core value was meant to be the protection of women.
@MikeCarlton01 Sounds like a reasonable issue to be concerned about to me. Probably more important than say, whether men feeling sad that they can’t enter women’s bathrooms more freely.
