Just a reminder... student nurses do have names; although we’re only on your wards a short time please try and use our names especially when you’re stood next to us and we have name badges. It’s so demoralising being called ‘the student, that one’ 🤨 #studentnurse
@lombardo1298 Sadly yes, capacity determines if you can understand, retain and communicate a decision. Not whether it’s a wise one or not. So as long as you are able to weigh up your options and communicate a decision you have capacity. Technically that’s when the MHA crosses in but PD Stigma
Awful experience @asda 2 days in a row trying to collect packages. Spoken to through a hatch designed for parcel drop off, accused of lying and disrespected despite explaining myself. @AsdaServiceTeam do you routinely train staff in raising concerns and being disability aware?!
@joanna_neaves Whilst IP there was a Covid outbreak. Staff were given masks and hid in the office; patients were left to fend for themselves. After a few days of chaos patients were confined to their rooms and the only contact they had with staff was when a staff member did meds or left food.
@ljh38257 I’ve heard the government are giving out time turners to aid the staffing crisis. That way they’ll only need one person to do five peoples jobs…. Oh crap, they’re not giving out time turners, just expecting that anyway 😝
. @HotpointSupport@WhirlpoolUK … After 1 failed repair, a near-miss slip with a baby, 1 no show from an engineer, hours of chasing support and a house full of washing with a newborn and a disabled occupant, thanks! This has been escalated multiple times, now this.
Crying in the car on the way home after work… sobbing in the shower before you go in. Waking up when you’ve finally got to sleep wondering if you did everything you could have, did you miss something, could you have done something better. #NHSCrisis
There are people dying in corridors, acutely unwell patients on the back of ambulances stuck, NHS staff commuting suicide at an all time high and yet the media are more concerned about the Harry and Meghan book or Stacey Solomons due date. It’s pathetic. #NHSCrisis
@DPDgroup_news I’m awaiting a package that was originally supposed to arrive on Thursday 1st December and when I track it I just get a page telling me about my safe place. Is there anyone that could help find out it’s location and potential delivery date?!
• NHS Hospital Canteen: ‘Single Tuna sarnie’ costing £3.00 for nurses, paid for out of their own wage
• Houses of Parliament: ‘Rum banana tarte tatin with rum and raisin ice cream’ for the princely sum of £2.37 for MPs, paid for by you the taxpayer
Nurses’ fight is our fight.
This is the reason the mortality rate in those with mental health conditions is up to 35% higher than the general population. We are not listened to. We are not heard. We are not believed. Health professionals NEED to remove the blinkers and listen. #MentalHealthAwareness
I went to A&E this week with heart palpitations, shortness of breath and chest pain and felt disbelieved by the doctor who saw me, because of my mental illness.
Here's what was said, a thread (1/?)

. @Tesco Is there logic to your recent stock movement around stores when it’s barely 4 months since the last time?! I understand the need for rotation occasionally in order to promote certain products but for your neurodivergent customers this is a nightmare. #Neurodiversity
@Doctor_Erin_ As Nurses we cry to; a lot… and know all the best hiding spots to cry but I’m glad you survived. We’re all in this together and we’re a team. …. Also Nurses ALWAYS have food :)
