@jk_rowling If you're a weirdo taking pictures of other people in the restroom, I'm not going to stop to ask if you're just "checking". I'm going to boot your ass out of the restroom. The only thing you're going to catch are these hands.
@amishescapee@Tedpinson@broseph_stalin Not when it comes to job progression, retirement benefits, lifetime earnings potential all of which *benefit* working women's children. And subsidized care? If I didn't have to shell out more than my mortgage in care each month, I'd spend more on fun things for my daughter
@SarahWW@emilykmay But that is why for bridal showers and baby showers, the ACTUAL etiquette is that the host is not the bride or expecting parents. It's thrown by family or friends on behalf of that person, sidestepping the "you shouldn't ask for gifts for yourself" issue entirely.
@SarahWW@emilykmay Not only is your post uncharitable about hypothetical people you'd purport to care any if you're invited to their shower, but it's just wrong on etiquette. The shower invite is the place where it's expected to have the registry. Because it's a gift giving event.
@HellyerConnie@_celia_bedelia_ If a child has precocious puberty then puberty blockers are necessary so that their growth plates don't close early. So yes there is puberty to block when it happens.
@BlondeHistorian I was taught and what I'll teach my daughter is that you just ignore service animals entirely. Distracting a working dog can be dangerous or potentially even fatal for the person who needs them. So while I take notice of them in public, and I smile, they're not a public resource
@BadMedicalTakes Bad medical takes, you have a really bad medical take here
Infants under 6 months should not be given plain water, as it can cause dangerous levels of electrolyte imbalance. Formula OR breastmilk have everything that babies need, including all the hydration they require
@epballou My daughter has a genetic disorder that they caught when she was born. One of the comorbidities is neurodivergence
And I can't help but think that 200 years ago she would just be another tiny headstone. It's too soon to tell yet if she will be ND, but I agree with you.
@colleen_eileen "So if I'm hearing you correctly, you want me to be less efficient with my work flow on company time? Is that how you're doing your job?"
@alitlstrawberry I've had subclinical mastitis several times in the last year and because I don't have deep breast pain they haven't believed me even though it causes severe blanching each time I pump π«
@Jauwnio When I found a job a half mile from my home, with pay that equaled what I made, I asked my old job to offer me flexibility about WFH to stay and they told me to get bent.
I did nearly all the back end work unpaid for 3 depts and I've heard that it's a dumpster fire without me
@Jauwnio My former company pulled the same crap after nearly 4 years of WFH. They tried to "soften" it by saying 3 days in office. I did it for 5 months fresh off maternity leave and it nearly broke me. I saw my daughter in 10 minute increments and I cried nearly every day.
@LisaMaroney7 Death of the author. Majority of people say hard G and it works best with the acronym. It doesn't matter what the creator intended any longer.
@sewistwrites Okay but I still laugh every time Matthew Macfayden's Darcy is just being a bro helping Bingley practice his proposal
Every successive reread just makes me love even more how ready Darcy is to be a male wife every time he interacts with Elizabeth.
