Bound for his homeland of Transylvania, the Czarina Catherine carries the Count across the Black Sea. As the Count’s dark power conjures haunting visions, the dance of the Bacchus figures begins.

The artwork is still in its early stages. From here, I’ll take my time and carefully bring it to completion.

1972年、大阪府生まれ。漫画家。1990年に『キース!!』が「週刊少年ジャンプ」第70回ホップ☆ステップ賞に入選。翌年、同作でデビュー。2005年から「週刊ヤングジャンプ」にて『益荒男』を連載。2007年から「週刊ヤングジャンプ」にて『孤高の人』を連載。2010年、『孤高の人』で第14回文化庁メディア芸術祭マンガ部門優秀賞を受賞。2013年から『イノサン』を「週刊ヤングジャンプ」で連載。2015から、その続編『イノサン Rouge』を「グランドジャンプ」にて連載。現在は同誌にて『#DRCL midnight children』を連載中。

Mina and Lucy — a secret maiden’s ritual.

I wanted this piece to evoke the look of a hand-colored photograph from the late nineteenth century, when monochrome photographs were carefully tinted by hand. The muted palette of pale grayish blue-green and dusty pink reflects the restrained elegance of the Victorian era.

The two close friends are holding each other’s hands tightly. Yet Lucy’s eyes have already turned crimson, and her thoughts are consumed by a single desire: to sink her fangs into Mina’s neck.

This is one of my favorite original illustrations from the entire series.
