With A Heavy Heart We Are Announcing The Closure Of Refuge Recovery Treatment Centers. We have a deep appreciation for the 562 people we have helped, and those who continue to participate in Refuge Recovery meetings. We will continue to serve the community with regular meetings.
https://t.co/N5cOAZubiJ Having a support system is one of the key reasons why life in #recovery gets better everyday. Here’s our #Sangha on a recent retreat in Joshua Tree. It was a weekend of #meditation, #mindfulness, connection and dancing… lots of dancing.
👻 It’s getting spooky around here! Spend Halloween at Refuge Recovery Center in Venice with the Sangha - Join us tonight for a Meditation & Dharma Talk with Casey, 7:30 PM at Refuge Recovery Treatment Centers - 2516 Lincoln Blvd, Venice.
“It's easy to hate and point out everything that is wrong with the world; it is the hardest and most important work in one's life to free oneself from the bonds of fear and attachment.” @noah_levine, Dharma Punx: A Memoir
“I truly believe that compassion will come to us with time & intentional effort in the direction of caring about our pain. Our hearts need to be guided in this direction, however. One of the best ways to train our heart/mind is through the discipline of meditation.” Noah Levine
“Pain is not wrong. Reacting to pain as wrong initiates the trance of unworthiness. The moment we believe something is wrong, our world shrinks and we lose ourselves in the effort to combat the pain.” @TaraBrach, Radical Acceptance: Embracing Your Life With the Heart of a Buddha
https://t.co/KLtvZI9eAR Our treatment program uses a wide variety of evidence-based modalities (including #EMDR) to assist clients with the reprocessing of traumatic memories, and emotions that surface when encountering present-day stress.
Our attachment-based approach to #recovery from substance abuse is rooted in science and #Buddhist teachings. Without support and stability in relationships, people inevitably turn to old methods of controlling emotions and self-soothing through substances. #TakeRefuge

At first getting #sober seems unthinkable. It seems confusing that there could be anything beyond the cycle of suffering we’ve been living in. But in the end we know that no one can #recover for us, that we have to do the work.
Noah Levine developed our treatment program, which blends Buddhist philosophy with evidence-based clinical approaches. As clients move through our program, they gain strength, clarity, and access to their full potential - and more importantly, a life beyond their suffering.
Our Transitional Living offers residents an opportunity to build a supportive community for themselves and their recovery. When our residents eventually integrate back into their lives, they find themselves more level headed with a stronger sense of self and a new community.
In #meditation, we quiet the mind and tap into awareness and acceptance of our thoughts. Join Noah tonight for a Meditation & Dharma Talk
at 2516 Lincoln Blvd, Venice - 7:30pm.

It’s hard to describe how good we feel after a #meditation led by @RevRoLoveMore - Practice with us from anywhere in the world on Facebook Live twice a week.
“For all of us, love can be the natural state of our own being; naturally at peace, naturally connected, because this becomes the reflection of who we simply are.”
@SharonSalzberg , Lovingkindness: The Revolutionary Art of Happiness
“I truly believe that compassion will come to us with time & intentional effort in the direction of caring about our pain. Our hearts need to be guided in this direction, however. One of the best ways to train our heart/mind is through the discipline of #meditation.” Noah Levine

We have a very human need to build community, and one approach is the practice of breaking bread together. At our treatment centers our chef, Mau Raynor, turns the preparation of nourishing and balanced comfort foods into an art form. https://t.co/N5cOAZubiJ
“The greatest satisfaction comes not from chasing pleasure and avoiding pain, but from the radical acceptance of life as it is, without fighting and clinging to passing desires.” Noah Levine, Against the Stream: A Buddhist Manual for Spiritual Revolutionaries Image: RR Chicago
https://t.co/9lNYdi69dY Getting sober does not mean the party is over, it’s an opportunity for life to truly begin. We utilize Buddhist informed addiction treatment to empower people to honor themselves, be present for each moment, and to let go. This is life in technicolor.
