❗Gianluca Iacono, the Italian voice of Vegeta, reshared a statement by Notizianime on his Instagram Stories:
"My comment on the matter is as follows...
As Moneta [Italian Goku VA] explained, the voice actors were required to agree to some very strict conditions. Given those terms, I can’t blame them for refusing: not being able to make public appearances for months is a serious restriction for people whose image and public presence are part of how they earn a living and support themselves.
It’s a decision by Toei that I frankly neither understand nor agree with, and it will earn them the dislike of many fans. They really should have done everything possible to keep, if not all of them, then at least the voices that have remained the same for 30 years and have become iconic to the brand. Instead, they chose to give them up just to maintain this supposed secrecy. And we all knew that sooner or later it was going to be dubbed anyway, it’s Dragon Ball!
It’s a senseless, counterproductive decision that will bring criticism and protests from people. Toei seems to be living on another planet... It’s very sad for figures who have been symbols of the franchise for thirty years, such as gianlucaiacono_official, emanuelapacotto [Italian Bulma VA], or Patrizia Scianca [Italian Kid Goku VA]. An unfair turn of events.
(Of course, I still have the utmost respect for all the professionals who decided to accept the roles. The criticism here is aimed at the original decision, not at the new voice actors, some of whom are extremely talented and whom I greatly admire.)"
@LethalButters@Resonancefrr@GarthosDBSZ@Extralongdokkan In the movie resurrection of F, Goku says that Vegeta reached the God stage without the ritual. But only through pure and hard training. (And the movie is canon obv)
