Texas has hired Oregon recruiting coordinator Jack Marder for the same role in Austin
Marder joined the Ducks in 2020 and has since orchestrated the best window in Oregon Baseball history, winning three regionals from 2023-26 after having previously done it once.
Marder's team this past year was almost entirely built through recruiting, including three great freshmen in Angel Laya, Brayden Jaksa and Naulivou Lauaki Jr.
With increased resources at Texas, Marder looks like a slam dunk hire for the Longhorns, who still have some work to do in the portal.
Baseball America Editor-in-Chief J.J. Cooper on the latest MLB CBA proposal that would end high school draftees:
"Eliminating draft eligibility for high school players would also remove the quickest and most lucrative path to the majors for the best draft-eligible players in the game... Mike Trout debuted at 19 years old and, a year later, finished second in MVP voting. Alex Rodriguez, Mickey Mantle, Ken Griffey Jr., Bryce Harper and Johnny Bench all debuted as teenagers and quickly became stars."

Breaking ball showed weak contact production & could be a projectable, reliable secondary for Yates.
