Iranians are NOT letting Macron live down backing the Iran War and January protests
Title: Macron Called Iran's a "Revolution." Now It's His Turn (KARMA)
There’s a subtle message for Indians in the murder (beheading) of Bangladeshi couple in Saudi Arabia:
Never let religion dictate the rules of a land & never let your country be overtaken by religious zeolites.
Faith is the end of imagination, not the beginning of it.
We all know that the Bangladeshi couple would still be alive if the man had slapped his wife instead of kissing her. What a sick sick world we live in. What a sick sick country.
fwiw I really want to know if KSA has ever executed an American national?
The protests in #Italy and #France have nothing to do with Islam or Jihad.
Here are 5 reasons.
1. France: The protests started with students, not religious organisations.
The French movement began with demands for better schools, more teachers and improved facilities. It subsequently expanded to include trade unions, Yellow Vest activists and people angry about inflation, fuel prices and deteriorating public services.
2. France: The government's explanation for the violence was political extremism and criminal activity.
Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu attributed the violence to ultra-left groups and opportunistic criminals. The reported causes of the movement were economic and political, not demands for Islamic law or religious governance.
3. Italy: The protests were about household expenses, fuel prices and wages.
Italian news agency ANSA described the demonstrations as originating in opposition to the cost of living, expensive petrol and taxation. The Milan march associated with Italia in Piazza protested fuel prices and low salaries.
4. Italy: Organised labour and secular civil society were also mobilising.
A separate national demonstration in Rome, organised by the CGIL trade union and a coalition of secular and Catholic organisations, demanded better wages, pensions, housing, healthcare, education and peace. This illustrates the wider social and economic nature of the unrest.
5. Violence does not establish a jihadist motive.
Police documented masked groups, vandalism, looting and clashes in several cities. Such criminal acts require investigation and accountability, but they do not, by themselves, establish that the perpetrators were jihadists or acting for religious reasons.
Palestinian flags and pro-Palestinian groups have appeared in parts of the demonstrations. Palestinian solidarity, however, is not automatically an evidence of Islamist extremism.
Let not the brainwashed bigots spread lies.

What an inspiring story of Navi Pillai, daughter of an Indian bus driver, who overcame all odds to become one of the world’s foremost human rights lawyers & activists. She was rightly awarded the Nobel peace prize this year. Had Modi congratulated her?
Sorry to come back to twitter after many hours and discover that in the Indian social media eco system the Paris protests are being seen as Islamist! Lethal mix of ignorance and prejudice. Good night.
It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say. But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota.
To understand why this is so appalling, it’s important to know the facts. Congresswoman Omar came to this country with her father when she was 12 years old. Five years later, her father became a naturalized citizen. If Ilhan had been 18 at the time, she would have had to apply for citizenship separately. But because she was 17, she became a naturalized citizen automatically.
Congresswoman Omar went on to graduate from college, work as a community organizer, become the first Somali-American legislator elected to public office in the U.S., and win a seat in Congress. There, she has been one of the Trump Administration’s fiercest critics, which has led the president to repeatedly single her out as someone who he believes does not belong in this country.
Now the Administration is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen. Federal agents have raided her home, confiscated personal records, and seized her phone — all to try and uncover a nonexistent smoking gun from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case.
Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president. And it’s not the first time this has happened. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has repeatedly gone after those he considers his political enemies — from the Attorney General of New York, to the former head of the FBI, to members of the Federal Reserve.
In those cases, the prosecutions either stalled or were dismissed for having no basis in law, and the same is likely to happen in this case. But not before Congresswoman Omar’s life has been turned upside down, her legal bills have piled up, and she’s been forced to spend time fighting unsubstantiated charges instead of serving the people of Minnesota.
The fact that any president, or any administration, is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans, regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omar’s political views. Because if this becomes the new normal, there’s no reason to believe it will stop with her — or that future presidents, in either party, won’t do the same.

Delhi Police has a weird habit.
First, they detain you and deny you access to lawyers the entire time. They don’t tell you or anyone where you are being taken to.
Then, at 3:30 in the morning, they suddenly show up with arrest papers and finally call your lawyer at 4 AM!
This has happened to me twice now. Ye 3:30 AM ko aisa kaunsa shubh muhurat hota hai, Delhi Police?
