Samserganj, Murshidabad.
I invite the Election Commission of India to come meet its victims and see, on the ground, what this so called “voter purification” exercise is doing to the poorest citizens of this country who also happen to be Muslims.
I have covered wars, communal violence, and mass movements. I have never seen anything like this before.
So much has changed in this country in the last few weeks of protests. Yet one thing remains untouched and unchallenged: the persecution of Muslims by the state.
This is the bitter, heartbreaking truth 200 million Indian Muslims are forced to live with. Every single day.

On January 9, 1920, the British colonial Hunter Committee asked Mahatma Gandhi a series of questions on what he thought about citizens using civil disobedience and peaceful protest against his own – i.e. an Indian led – government and ministers.
His answers stunned Lord Hunter. And they will also stun Emperor Modi and Lord Shah.
Sample this:
Question: Supposing your own ministers pass any law, would it be open to anybody and everybody to break them?
Gandhi: Will it be open to the masses? I think it will be more open to the masses when India has her own ministers, because whilst English ministers have at least the benefit of ignorance on their side, unintentionally, our own ministers will have absolutely no such excuse.
Question: Is not the remedy to turn those ministers out and not to break the laws?
Gandhi: I have known in most democratic countries ministers who have made themselves irremovable somehow or other. In that event what is a poor respectable minority to do? That minority will certainly bring down the tallest minister by offering stubborn civil resistance, and such a position I do anticipate happening in India also.
Read Gandhiji's testimony in detail and imagine what he would have said about the satyagraha that the young people – and all those concerned about democracy – have launched in India!

#WATCH | Israel | Israeli researcher based in Jerusalem, featured as a contributor in the book 'Hundred Years Young: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh', Yeshaya Rosenman says, "...I have friends in the RSS whom I met at events organised by the Israeli diplomatic team in India. They introduced me to other friends, and they realised that we shared an ideological alliance. We agreed on many different issues concerning world affairs. For me, it was an opportunity to be introduced to the real India and the grassroots of Indian society..."

If you can’t respect the basic decorum of a press conference, why should you enjoy the privileges of journalism?
You can’t weaponise the press card, disrupt a press conference and then hide behind the garb of journalism.
They are clearly RSS goons not journalists.
