🇲🇽😤Labor exploitation of indigenous women 👕
Tatiana Bernaldez from Proceso Revela, reports a case in which indigenous women who worked on the production of Mexico’s national team jerseys allegedly suffered labor exploitation.
According to the report, the Mexican company Someone Somewhere , which promotes Mexican artisanal products, allegedly paid only around $36 MXN for hours of embroidery work on garments that can sell for up to $5,000 MXN 👕💸.
It is also claimed that medical insurance was promised but never delivered, and that traditional indigenous symbols and ancestral techniques were modified to reduce production costs.
The report accuses the company of using “inclusion” narratives around Indigenous communities as a branding strategy while allegedly benefiting from underpaid labor.
Additionally, the business model is said to have originated within the Tecnológico de Monterrey ecosystem, backed by investment based on the idea of integrating communities into global markets but operating under low-cost production schemes.

An Independent Disciplinary Commission has today expelled Southampton from the Sky Bet Championship Play-Offs after the Club admitted to multiple breaches of EFL Regulations related to the unauthorised filming of other Clubs’ training.
In addition, the Club has received a four-point deduction that will be applied to the 2026/27 Championship table.
The effect of today’s order is that Middlesbrough are reinstated into the 2026 Play-Offs and will proceed to the Play-Off Final against Hull City. The final remains scheduled for Saturday 23 May, with the kick-off time to be confirmed.

“In MLS, not every game is treated like a final, There is no pressure. If you don't win, the fans are not gonna get at you. Here [in Mexico] every game means a lot, not only to the club, but to the fans.”
Danny Leyva spoke about differences between Liga MX and MLS 🗣️
The midfielder, who joined Necaxa from Seattle Sounders, was speaking to YouTube channel Sam’s Concourse Corner.
“I think it's very similar to MLS in the level of competition,” Leyva said.
“I think here [in Liga MX] you just feel the passion, the atmosphere in the stadiums, and the way that people live the game. It's something that's second to none.
“And for me, that's kind of the biggest thing that I've seen in the change. But yeah, Necaxa is a very big club, historical club, with a lot of trophies here in Liga MX, especially in the 90s, when they had a really good team.
“Now, being here, I can see how big it is, and I’m enjoying a lot, because I was always watching Liga MX as well, and seeing all the games I was younger.
“So being able to finally play in the league and live it firsthand is a dream come true.
“In MLS, not every game is treated like a final, There is no pressure. If you don't win, the fans are not gonna get at you.
“Here every game means a lot, not only to the club, but to the fans. They treat it that way.
“And I feel like, you know, you feel that passion transmitted, not only when you're playing on the field, but outside of the field too.
“So I think that's kind of something positive that I really like over here. And I think you know us as players, we like to have the pressure, we like to feel the passion that you know we're trying to fight to win a championship, and every game is part of that process.
“And here they treat it that way, and that's why I love it.”
Leyva has played 17 games for Necaxa and contributed with three assists.
Born and raised in Las Vegas to Mexican parents, he came out of Seattle Sounders academy and spent a long time at the club.
🚨🇺🇸 Gianni Infantino, on the criticism over the high ticket prices at the 2026 World Cup:
🗣️ “You can’t go watch a college game in the United States, not even talking about a top-tier professional match, for less than $300. And this is the World Cup.
We have to look at the market; we’re in the market where entertainment is the most developed in the world. So we have to apply market rates.
In the United States, it’s also allowed to resell tickets. So if you sold tickets at a price that’s too low, those tickets would be resold at a much higher price.
If some people put some tickets for the final on the resale market for $2M, that doesn’t mean the tickets cost that.
And if someone buys a ticket for the final for two million dollars, I personally will bring them a hot-dog and a Coca to make sure they have a great experience.” 🏆🎟️
