Lecturing is interesting but it can be a very dangerous profession. It can be more dangerous than the military. The relationship between a lecturer (man) and a student (woman), married or unmarried is complex. The line between staying professional and becoming promiscuous is very thin. One needs a powerful prayer and strong self will to resist the temptation that is thrown at you constantly.
Lecturers go looking for a female student to date. I have seen that happen many times. There are many of them. They come in different shapes, colours, sizes, and family backgrounds. There is always the one that will catch your fancy and she is vulnerable. Your ability to stay professional and resist her will save your life and personal credibility.
Female students go looking for lecturers to date. They wear heavy make up to the classroom. They smell nice to entice. They stare at lecturers like a romantic movie. One can almost feel the sharpeness in their eyes. They talk seductively. Its like music to the ears. Some of them will like the lecturers naturally. I know a few who found love and got married from the classroom. Some of them cannot pass a particular course or the project is too hard to write. They are looking for academic favours and there is no boundary that they cannot cross. Some are just looking for fun. They see a fine lecturer, they like him immediately.
These dynamics are hard to navigate. Some of the few strategies that I personally implemented is to reduce exposure. I don't share my phone number. All correspondences are done by email. The students hated me for this but I wanted to protect myself against destruction. Female students are not allowed to come to my office to gist. Allowing a group of female "gisters" in your office is the beginning of a bad journey. I also didn't collect any gift of any kind from students. It is a trap, avoid it.
The university classroom is a wonderful place where knowledge is shared and acquired. But it is a dangerous place to be. Be very intentional in what you do. Pray hard and stay out of trouble with these girls because it is not worth it. The lecturer who got the beating of his life deserves to learn a lesson. There is nothing he is looking for in that married woman that his own wife cannot provide. It is all fantasy.
The grace of God and a little bit of luck is what will make the difference if a woman is involved. A woman's trap can catch anybody. Allah ya kyauta!
After this World Cup, I honestly can't praise Bruno Fernandes the same way again. Even if he wins the Ballon d'Or one day, this tournament showed me that he failed to make the impact I expected on the biggest stage. 💔😩
If this was Ronaldo’s last game for Portugal, he leaves having played most international games in history (233), scored most international goals (146), and become the only man to score in SIX different World Cups. Congrats, @cristiano - you’ve done your country & family so proud.
This session promises to be exciting. It will be delivered in Hausa language for maximum reach. See you tomorrow, Saturday at 2:00 PM.

A Black man scoring the first goal of the 2026 World Cup to silence the African continent’s most hostile nation towards Black foreigners is absolutely poetic. Thank you, Mexico! 🇲🇽
