They don’t always work out according to plan. @AskTOH has been in OR this week, and the plan today was for Nathan to replace a basement window. When that plan fell through, we made this sensory mud kitchen segment instead, completely on the fly. Pretty happy with the result!
Just got back from a week long @AskTOH trip to Tulsa, Oklahoma! It rained every day but that’s never stopped us from doing hard work. ☺️
Big thanks to @tulsaremote for helping us pull these stories together and kick off Season 22’s travel schedule with some great stories!
@rs0xcb@AskTOH@KevinOConnorTOH@TomSilvaTOH I’m glad you asked because I meant to ask our web team to add a new category on the @AskTOH submission page so we could keep track of them! You should be able to submit all their relevant information on our website hopefully late next week.
NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP-BOUND BOBCATS!
Congratulations to the @QU_MIH team for a decisive 5-2 victory in the NCAA National Semifinals!!!
The Bobcats will take on Minnesota at 8 p.m. on Saturday. We’ll host watch parties nationwide, as well as on-campus!
@Opcn@AskTOH@TomSilvaTOH Oh! Yeah we had Tommy hold the meat hand for one of the demos but it actually had enough moisture to trigger the saw both ways. Honestly we weren’t sure if it would be enough either, so I made extra hands 😂. Segment turned out great!
I just made these for a segment we are filming tomorrow on @AskTOH with @TomSilvaTOH about table saw safety. Giggling endlessly since I decided they should be called “hand-burgers” 😂
Our team is awesome, especially the cast. They essentially work two full time jobs (appearing on both shows and running their contracting businesses full time), yet when I asked them to volunteer their time and expertise for this special episode, each one responded, “ABSOLUTELY!”
On a special episode of #AskTOH, the team partners with @RTBos. Along with volunteers from the extended AskTOH & @ThisOldHouse family, the crew build a deck, construct a patio, and more.

Deliandro coordinated the entire permitting process with the city over a month and a half! I could go on. @TomSilvaTOH’s response (and advice to the rest of us) is always, “whatever it takes.” It was really cool to see every single person on the team rally behind that idea.
Many of them contributed more than just the four days’ worth of work that’s shown in the episode. Mark spent 4 days straight working to get the new footings for the deck poured. @JNawadaTOH sourced all the donations for the patio, gardens, and the backyard.
Update (and the most @TomSilvaTOH story ever): Tommy turned a few of these in advance so that we could get through the filming process faster. I got the footage we needed and told him we could swap out balusters. He said, “it’s ok, now I’m in the zone,” and did an entire new one
