The shape of orgs today drains meaning from work. AI could cure it.
On people, AI, and org design, from someone who scaled a few co.s. Chasing truth, out loud.
Woke from a train of thought I went to bed with, which is a more developed idea of the future: AI will make life abundant, there will be reduced number of people in the workforce but that also means that we can go back to single income households comfortably supporting a family. The life that 100k buys you today will become available at a 1/4th it's present value. If wages fall so will cost of goods and services.
Study of 5,172 call center agents: AI made the least-skilled 36% more productive. Top performers? Slight declines. AI was trained on expert output and now hands that tacit knowledge to everyone on day one.
Economists call it skill compression.
I was at a talk by a policy advisor for the government, they view this as an electoral mandate according to him, 'the govt came to power based on promises to it's core electorate and it must use it's resources to keep the promise it made while getting elected' I was surprised at how open that statement was. Also totally fair and logical. They are playing by the rules as they stand today.
I think keep election promise first build nation next appears definitely to be the mindset at work. But it's also been true for other governments too... Change has to constitutional
