“Anything to declare?”
“Just Lamine Yamal, Nico Williams and a few other Spain, Argentina and Uruguay attackers in my back pocket”
Welcome home, Pico! 🇨🇻 ⚽️
Historically, the club didn't hoard unsellable deadwood or let agents call the shots. You have spent years complaining about the money blown on Fellaini, Antony, and Mount, while blasting the massive contracts handed to Rooney, Rashford, and Shaw for crippling us financially & hurting our culture in the dressing room. It makes no sense that you are now willing to repeat those exact Glazer-era mistakes for a player you explicitly admitted is only worth £50m.........Mic Drop
Manchester United were right not to pay £116m for Elliot Anderson & £300k+ p/w & they are right not to pay £85m for Mateus Fernandes & £250k p/w.
Not overpaying for players is something the club has to change. If they don't value players at that price they shouldn't & won't be bullied into paying it.
This is the correct decision, whether you want to or can swallow it or not. These are changes the club needed to make & they're correctly making them.
Fernandes isn't worth the wages when considering the club's wage structure. I understand frustration on time wasted, but I can't believe people think he's worth that.
There will be performative outrage, turbo tweeting temper tantrums. I understand frustration of the unknown now & what happens next. That's fair.
The double edged sword with these decisions is being able to pivot to alternative targets & find value in the market - the club have to prove they can do that.
Diogo Dalot on his daughter:
“This April, Clara had to spend some time in hospital. They had to take her blood. They put syringes in her skin. She got really traumatised. For a father to see his daughter suffer like that, it’s very difficult. Every time a nurse came into her room, she would rise up in her bed and say, “No, no, no!” The first five days, she wouldn’t allow anyone to touch her except me. If the doctors wanted to take her temperature, I had to do it. It couldn’t even be Claudia [wife].
I did not go with the team to train in Ireland. As a father, I wanted to stay at the hospital every single hour of the day.
But every day, I drove into Carrington. I trained for two hours on my own, and then I went back to the hospital. When the team was back from Ireland, I was at training on Saturday. I didn’t know if I would be selected for the game. But I’m playing for United. I had to do my job. I had to know that I had done everything I could to be ready.
Fortunately, the operation was a success, and after that my daughter only wanted mom mom mom. A week later, she was back home, watching daddy play on the TV. When she watches me, she points to the badge and says, “United! United!”
We raised her right.” ❤️

Unfortunately, I will not be able to travel to Dublin tonight for Night 7 of the Premier League due to medical reasons.
This is not the message I wanted to write. Right up until the last moment, getting on that stage tonight was everything I was working towards, but sometimes things are simply out of your hands.
The pain started Sunday morning, but got a whole lot heavier once I returned home after Göttingen. I am still in the hospital since yesterday morning, where I hope to return home later today or tomorrow.
To the fans in Dublin and Ireland: I am truly sorry. You are one of the crowds I look forward to the most and it genuinely hurts to miss this one. I hope we get another chance soon, because I will definitely be there.
Thank you for your understanding. I’ll be back.👊
Exposes the board, Gary Neville and refuses to listen to Jason Wilcox.
Sticks to his principles, storms his last press conference after dropping a nuke, 3-4-2-1 no matter what, gets sacked, smiles while leaving.
Bossman 😎
You wanted Amorim gone. You got it. Don’t cry when nothing changes. This club won’t heal until the fanbase stops eating its own.
Another manager sacrificed. Well done INEOS 👏
