Ousmane Sembène's first feature film, BLACK GIRL (‘66), exposed the legacies of colonialism with a dignified and heartbreaking performance from Mbissine Thérèse Diop.
See it tonight on #TCMImports hosted by @aliciamalone.
In my fight for health equity in #SickleCell, I have few allies.
It’s hard advocating for a “back of the bus disease” in a racist system.
Drop a heart if you support health equity for #SickleCell disease and retweet for patients to see they have friends in healthcare!
In the white evangelical frame, proclaiming Christ into individual issues is often labeled “preaching the gospel,” but proclaiming Christ into systemic issues is labeled “preaching a social gospel.” The inbreaking of God’s Kingdom applies to both the individual & the whole world.
I do not say this lightly or hastily but with fear & trembling after much deliberation. I think we are experiencing a divine reckoning in America. I don’t think the reckoning is over our having simply sinned. I think it’s over the fact that we have used God & the Bible to do it.
“A life shaped by a healthy fear of God will produce different fruit than one shaped by fear of being excluded by the in-crowd. Fear of God offers us freedom. Fear of others enslaves.”

@analisabalares Hello! I registered for the emerging leaders forum that was scheduled for Mar 23 but have not rec'd communication about the address, agenda. Has the event date changed? Trying to contact folks on all platforms. Thanks!
darling,
many will be intimidated by your narrative. many will take issue with it because they don’t want to be left behind, and others will be indifferent to your narrative because they are not aligned with their own. you don’t have to put fullstops in your story for anyone.
