As adults, they're always scanning, always decoding, never fully relaxing. The loneliness doesn't come from being alone, it comes from never feeling safe enough to just be. And when your brain is wired to stay ahead of pain, even joy starts to feel dangerous.
Psychology shows that people with high emotional intelligence often feel more lonely, not because they lack connection, but because they carry too much awareness. It's what's called the curse of knowledge. They don't just feel things, they see them.
they already know why and still feel responsible. That's not overthinking, that's hypervigilance, a trauma response. Often rooted in childhood, it forms in environments where emotions were unpredictable. Noticing tiny shifts wasn't optional, it was survival
Yesterday, I was pushed to see you for the last time. You don’t look the same, but I know you’re finally at peace.
Ur beautiful soul can never be replaced, never reimbursed. You’ll always live in us, Nana.

Hey nana
Yesterday I saw you in the coffin for the very last time.
Your hands were folded, roses surrounding you. You didn’t look the same, but you looked comfortable. Your hands were cold, but still tight, like you were holding on.
still laugh thinking about when I started learning Russian and teaching u Egyptian Arabic. You couldn’t even tell the difference between “he” and “she” your broken accent was so cute.
Those moments will always stay with me.
