Christopher Nolan revealed that he wanted to include the famous âNobodyâ wordplay from Homerâs The Odyssey in the film but ultimately couldnât make it work.
The joke relies on Odysseus telling Polyphemus that his name is âNobody,â so when the Cyclops cries, âNobody is attacking me!â, the others leave, thinking nothing is wrong.
According to Nolan, the pun simply didnât translate naturally into modern dialogue.
