Black literary pioneer Eric Huntley has died. The political & social activist set up Bogle L’Ouverture, a Black publishing company & bookshop in Ealing with his wife Jessica who died in 2013. The shop was later renamed the Walter Rodney Bookshop. May they now both rest in peace🕊️

Mapetla Mohapi had just managed to get a message to his wife through a black policeman, that he was fine & at the Kei Road police station, in one of the holding cells, when he was murdered on this day in 1976. He was the first BCM leader to die in detention. He was 29 years old.

The U.S.-brokered “peace” deal puts the entire burden on the Congolese government while U.S. companies line up to profit from Congo’s minerals.

In both Ministers’ speeches:
🔴 No mention of the 7,000–12,000 Rwandan troops who helped seize Goma
🔴 No mention of M23 — not even by the DRC’s own Foreign Minister
🔴 No accountability. No justice. Just silence.

Instead:
Sanitized terms like “disengagement of forces,” “lifting of defensive measures” (yes, Rwanda’s invasion is now called defense), and “joint coordination.”

In an interview to @jeune_afrique published on July 4, Massad Boulos (@US_SrAdvisorAF ) President Trump’s Senior Advisor for Africa confirmed that both the DRC and Rwanda had agreed to that language.

So we have to ask:

Does the DRC 🇨🇩 really accept that Rwanda can occupy its land in the name of self-defense?
If not…
