NEW | "After hundreds of years, the Pope has expressed an apology for the slavery. Our Shankaracharya does not express an apology for the act of untouchability; on the contrary, they are defending now."

Live breaking news: a section within the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the ideological parent of India’s right-wing, Hindu nationalist ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wants Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to resign immediately. A source who spoke on condition of anonymity said the CEC had become an embarrassment for the government led by prime minister Narendra Modi after lying to the Supreme Court of India. He said that the CEC had botched up the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls. Even the name of the former Deputy Prime Minister of India Lal Krishna Advani had been left out of the voter roll and this was unpardonable, my source added. Things are clearly become hotter for the government.
The corporatisation of Indian hospitals should be nipped in the bud. The US healthcare model is a completely broken one
Hospitals should be treated as public utilities. Power companies have a fixed RoE. Why not follow the same model for hospitals?
Ask the people who have worked for Lala Companies. These guys want Meta/Google-level engineers for 3-3.5 LPA. Indian Companies love to underpay workers. Just to make a little extra profit.
Remember folks, profits are stolen wages.
Rumor, backed by email evidence: Oracle is now offering voluntary severance packages to leaders across the company.
The offer is six weeks of severance, plus an additional week for every year of service.
This is the latest coming out of Oracle. Still unconfirmed, but signs are pointing to another round of layoffs in December as Oracle continues its shift toward becoming a data center company.
The voluntary packages may only be the opening move. If the rumors are right, looks like December is when more cuts begin.
Luckily we approved data centers near lakes with 15 year tax breaks and subsidized water and electricity right before we announced a drought in the state ✌️ too much masterstroke
Indian Railways will have to supply water by train in Maharashtra.
80% of the state is facing drought in 2026.
Maharashtra is the largest producer of ethanol used in E20 petrol.
65% of the state’s irrigation water is consumed by sugarcane.
After 7 years as a geospatial data scientist, I quit my job.
I'm going all in to tell you stories hidden in satellite data
I've worked on cocoa and coffee supply chain monitoring, near real time flood maps with radar satellites that see through clouds, mapped trees in 3D to prevent wildfires and built pipelines that analyse crop yields at the scale of the US
But I've always kept going back to telling stories
I've done 70+ interviews of data scientists, CEOs, engineers, policy makers and artists all trying to better understand the impact of data, maps & satellites images in our lives
I've made videos seen by hundreds of thousands of people on how satellite & maps work.
So now I'm going all in
I believe the worlds need more people telling stories, of people; that statistics and data changes the world, but people and stories are what resonate.
A few weeks ago I already put a video out with @OurRadiantEarth about millions of people being miscounted in Argentina. One of the largest press outlets picked the story up, and now there's a conversation about this problem, that's what I want to go do
This is probably the scariest thing I've ever done in my life, but I'm also really excited about it
If you're a company doing cool, impactful stuff with satellite images, geospatial & data and can't get the world to pay attention, let's work together.
I have some cool stories coming up and some collaborations in the pipes.
So, if that sounds cool, I'll see you around on the internets
Given the power gap between India and Bangladesh, bizarre that the Indian envoy in Dhaka is having to provide these tortured justifications.
Over the last decade, the amount of relative power Delhi has lost is astonishing.
The speed with which Indian democracy is being demolished is impressive. It is as if world class experts in demolition are in power, who know the entire science of it.
The mysterious 16.8 lakh voters added to Uttar Pradesh’s voter rolls.
Law requires ECI to put out details of all Form 6 applications for addition. We found ECI has hidden the identity of 16.8 lakh voters.

His strange gait (trying to display extra confidence) matches the gait of Gyanesh Gupta exactly (if you've seen that airport exit video). Clearly, both are under same instructions.
