Peter Obi, Are You Loyal to Nigeria or Biafra?

Dear Peter Obi,

I am surprised that you are now attacking the Federal Government for defending Nigeria's image in the United States through a lobbying firm. Peter, you did not write an epistle like this when US Department of Justice filings revealed that a pro-Biafra group, the Biafra Republic Government in Exile (BRGIE), has paid a US lobbying firm, Moran Global Strategies, millions of dollars to lobby for sanctions against Nigeria based on alleged Christian Genocide.

Rather, the revelation of the paid Biafran anti-Nigerian lobby coincided with the period when you publicly said that the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, who has now been convicted of terrorism, had done no wrong. You also claimed during that TV interview that Nnamdi Kanu's trial "makes no sense". But now that our government is forced to counter the lobbying of IPOB-linked groups, you attack our government.

Three times you referred to Nigeria as a “now disgraced country". You were in the US lobbying against Nigeria and have spent the last three years de-marketing Nigeria.

And when the Federal Government is compelled to take steps to redeem Nigeria's image after you and Biafra-linked groups have done severe damage, you come out to criticise Nigeria.

Peter, where are your loyalties? With Nigeria or Biafra?

Please, for once, be patriotic and support the country that gave you the opportunity to be what you are.

And if you cannot support Nigeria, Peter, can you come out publicly and declare your stance for Biafra?
