While the whole country is debating petrol-ethanol, the bros from Madhya Pradesh have already pulled off what is arguably India's first major ethanol scam, not counting you know who.
There is a govt policy that surplus rice in govt warehouses can be sold to ethanol manufacturers at subsidised rates to prevent it from rotting.
According to a Dainik Bhaskar report, the scam began when some officials allegedly (willingly?) ignored the rules and allocated "newly procured" fortified rice (not even regular rice, but fortified rice) for ethanol production. The rice, bought at a high price (₹4,000 per quintal), was sold at a throwaway price (₹2,320 per quintal) to ethanol plants.
The ethanol plant operators allegedly knew it was fortified rice, so instead of using it to make ethanol, they sold it to rice millers at ₹2,800 per quintal, and instead bought cheap broken rice (₹2,100 per quintal) from the open market for ethanol production, making an overall profit of ₹700 per quintal.
The rice millers allegedly repacked the fortified rice in new gunny bags and supplied it back to the govt as freshly milled rice. The govt paid them milling charges, while the govt supplied paddy they were actually supposed to mill was allegedly sold in the open market for another round of profit.
So the same bag of rice allegedly kept changing hands: govt warehouse to ethanol plant to rice mill to back to govt warehouse. Everyone in the chain allegedly made money.
The MP govt formed an SIT. So far, four people have been arrested and 12 trucks seized. Investigators suspect that up to 50 lakh quintals of govt rice, worth around ₹1,160 crore, may have been diverted through this alleged racket.
This was heartbreaking to watch!
A woman in Aligarh died after stepping into electrified water on her way to her husband's shop.
You will never see a politician die like this - it is always the common citizen !
I just received a call from @DelhiPolice and they have said not to go tomorrow to the residence of Hon'ble Transport & Highway minster shri @nitin_gadkari ji! But Nitin sir, you gave us a challenge to to get people affected whose vehicles are affected by E20Fuel! Sir you please give us an appointment!!
Secondly sir: yesterday you said your son's Ethanol business is just 0.07%, this sir is roughly about ₹50-₹100 crores a year! How many INDIANS earn that kind of money? Sir with humility, this is BETA BADHAO YOJANA & a conflict of interest. Sir we await your revert!

62% of Indian resident doctors work more than 36 hours at a stretch. 86% report severe sleep deprivation. 97% earn less than an entry level civil servant. 76% are assaulted while on duty.
We can call ourselves civilised only when we learn to treat our doctors like they treat us.
Toyota said that Manish Kashyap's car was not damaged because of E20 petrol, but because the petrol was contaminated.
Now, Manish Kashyap has challenged the government and Toyota.
Who makes petrol?
Who approves a petrol pump?
Who delivers petrol?
How do we know a trusted petrol pump?
Who do import export?
Mr. Vikram Gulati, you promised a mileage of 23 km/l for the Innova Hycross. Take my car and use it for a month, and deliver even 20% less than the promised mileage on E20 petrol.
When our family goes on a vacation to say an exotic location, the primary focus is on living the experience. We do capture some photos and videos, but the real priority is enjoying the moment.
We don’t publish our family photos, vacation pictures, car, house, or similar personal images in the public domain.
When I see people focusing solely on creating Instagram Reels and taking hundreds of photos, I feel like asking them:
You’re only recording the moments. Why not enjoy them?
Thank you to everyone who showed up with Team Bharat at Jantar Mantar Today
The response from the people was overwhelming, and we’re grateful to the media for covering our concerns and giving our voices a platform.
One thing is certain we’ve made our message impossible to ignore. This is just the beginning.
We’ll be taking this movement to more cities across India.See you soon, India.
Let’s stay united, stand up for our rights, and keep our love for cars alive. 🇮🇳❤️

@news24tvchannel#EthanolScam
Ethanol will hurt the BJP electorally, not because of car owners, the are just 8% of the population, but because of bike owners, who make up 60%.
Every issue with a bike, irrespective of whether it's due to ethanol or not, is being blamed on ethanol. Remember that the overwhelming majority of car and bike mechanics are not your voters and, in fact, they hate you and you know why. They are actively telling anyone with any bike issue that it is due to ethanol. Not only does it serve a political purpose, but it is also easy and convincing.
Car and bike dealers are equally happy to lean into this excuse because it completely deflects blame away from the manufacturers and their own service centers. If a part fails prematurely or a vehicle suffers from a chronic engineering defect, blaming ethanol allows dealers to shift the responsibility onto government policy rather than admitting to poor build quality or honoring warranty claims. It gives them a convenient, politically charged scapegoat that customers readily accept, shielding the automotive brands from reputational damage.
It's up to the BJP to smell the coffee. The issue is no longer on Twitter and no longer raised just by English-speaking metro car owners. It has gone to the ground. There is still time to wake up and make corrections.
P.S. I'm not defending ethanol here. It does damage engines and parts. I've been strongly opposing it and will keep doing so. I'm only saying what's happening on the ground. The BJP should do a course correction on ethanol solely because its implementation was wrong and correcting it is only logical. However, since politicians see every controversy from the standpoint of electoral gains and losses, I'm telling them that it will hurt them electorally too.
Genuine question:
Why can't Indian highways be smooth? They always feel uneven, bumpy, undulating. Even on flyovers along NHs, you can feel every expansion joint under your car. Many times, the car hits a sudden vertical bump out of nowhere, usually at the beginning of a flyover, and the impact is so hard that the wipers come on.
Is it due to soil conditions, lack of technology, engineering constraints, or simply corruption?

Tehseen Poonawalla is doing what millions of frustrated vehicle owners wish more leaders would — taking the fight to the streets against the dangerous E20 ethanol scam!
From reduced mileage and engine damage to hidden safety risks for 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers, and cars alike — this forced blend is hitting every common commuter hard while being pushed without full transparency.
Respect for @tehseenp for stepping up and announcing the “TEAM BHARAT against the Ethanol Scam” protest at Jantar Mantar. If Delhi Police is ghosting permissions, sitting outside Gadkari ji’s house is exactly the kind of democratic pressure needed.
Why is this not yet a national roar of rejection? Middle-class India is paying the price every time we fill up.
Time to wake up, support this protest and demand ethanol-free options + real safety data!
Jai Hind. Real accountability over forced experiments.

Our Government just did a press conference to throat down their version of E20 and is using state mechanism to propagate misinformation.
They would just spend money on propoganda without addressing a simple question..
Pre-2023 cars are not E20 compliant.
Why is pure petrol not available as a choice.
Just simple 2 questions.
Blabbering for hours, experts without any peer reviewed open research paper in their hands.. just please trust us.
Fkkkkng shame.
No process to reach the truth.
Bhutan has declined India's E20 petrol
Japan rejected Indian mangoes
China rejected Indian chilli consignments
Nepal banned MDH & Everest spices
The world is rejecting what we consume every day.
The biggest Indian tea companies export high quality to Europe, but sell inferior quality tea in India often containing banned pesticides.
I’ve seen the reports myself. Since Europe has extremely strict quality standards, Indian tea companies ensure they follow all safety norms while exporting but don’t follow these norms for Indian teas.
Tea is consumed daily by millions of Indians, often multiple times a day. Which means this is not about one cup. It’s about long-term exposure.
This issue is being taken far too lightly right now.
But I’m confident that in the coming months, quality of tea in India is going to become a national issue.
