Republished with a new introduction,Tiffany B lays out a vision for DSA as an "organization of organizers," modeling a “new practice of politics” based in the autonomous organizations of the working class https://t.co/C5wsRSfGAr
Extremely insightful discussions in this interview about how these workers developed the capacity to strike: "We’ve developed a network that’s focused on developing organization at the level of the department or the lab or the work site"
"We have tried to rethink EWOC as not merely a third party that supports union organization, but instead as a space where workers across shops can provide peer-to-peer mentorship and develop rank-and-file initiatives in our workplaces." https://t.co/VN6hTnYXBU
The seizing of the Global Sumud Flotilla and its humanitarian aid in sovereign Palestinian waters is the latest genocidal act by Israel. We join the global call for immediate release of all participants and international action to break the illegal siege of Gaza.
1/5 Two years into the US-backed Israeli genocide of Gaza, two million Gazans now face famine. The Global Sumud Flotilla is sailing to break the siege & deliver life-saving aid. With 50+ ships from 44 countries, it’s the largest convoy yet. DSA stands in solidarity, ready to act.

The Global Sumud Flotilla is under attack, but they do not sail alone. We join the call issued by the dockworkers of Genoa for solidarity mobilizations to defend @GlobalSumudF and demand the safe passage of aid to Gaza!

On this day 20 years ago, Hurricane Katrina made landfall over Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana, as a high-end Category 3 hurricane. 1/6
Another DSA convention, the biggest one yet, is in the books and this year our HJC resolution passed by consensus! Here’s the TLDR of the full resolution:
We bust our asses to make DSA a good place for Communists to organize and took time off work/saved money for months to go to Chicago and struggle our line. Outsiders who know nothing about how this org works demanding that we go on some type of crazy ass witch-hunt and start arbitrarily expelling people from our chapters for no reason whatsoever demonstrate that they know nothing about how to behave in a political organization and have no respect for our struggle and work. I’m not going to start studying how to expel SMC or Groundwork folks in STL that hold down our electoral work because they voted against R22. That’s fucking idiotic and wrong, I do not have the power to do that, and I’m not going to fuck up my branch or drive it into chaos to make do nothing mfs on the internet happy. Nor is anybody else. My city is still reeling from a fucking tornado.
@framari6 we have some chapter members who are rightly proud of our Palestine solidarity work but also use that work to point and say "see? we can do this work without PYM, etc." whereas the members actually doing that organizing DO care deeply about repairing relations with those orgs
