There are no BAD kids! There are kids who:
-have been traumatized
-have little hope for the future
-have never experienced success, love or joy
-have been repeatedly disappointed by adults
-have not learned how to regulate their emotions
It is NEVER too late to help a kid who is struggling!

Kristin is a pioneer in the field of self-compassion research and a co-developer of the empirically supported training program "Mindful Self-Compassion."
In an episode of my Checking In podcast with @TEDTalks , she guided us on some self-soothing exercises and unpacked the research on why this approach is so important. I hope these exercises might make you feel supported wherever you are today. I found them so powerful.
