No thought given by @OldhamCouncil on who will operate a new theatre and @OldhamColiseum won’t exist by end of March if it is not saved so we won’t even have a theatre company to perform in it. Shame on @OldhamCouncil for dragging its feet for 15 years.

Public meeting tonight to save @OldhamColiseum None of our MPs @Debbie_abrahams @JimfromOldham @OldhamCouncil or @ace_national turned up. It’s clear new theatre proposed is not fit for purpose, too small, no rehearsal space, no fly stage, nowhere for community groups to use

@BBCr4today @Marthakearney Oldham is not getting a new theatre - the plan is for a ‘performance space’ with half the capacity than we currently have - it’s not good enough. The money needs to be spent on the existing theatre.

Just reading about the plight of @oldhamcoliseum. When I was working with Bernard Cribbins on his autobiography he showed me this one day. He was 14 years old, worked every hour God sent, and loved every moment. He was proud to have worked there. I hope it can be saved.
