⚕️ “Min Yoongi Treatment Center Launches 'Basketball Therapy' Adding to Music Therapy”

Severance Hospital announced on the 2nd that it has developed 'MIND-PLAY,' a program adapted to suit Korean characteristics based on the DRIB model, an integrated basketball program created by the Korean American Center for Special Education (KASEC). To this end, Severance Hospital signed a business agreement with KASEC.

This treatment program will be piloted at the basketball court of the Yonsei University Sports Science Building from the 2nd of this month until September 17th for 12 weeks, once a week for 90 minutes, with support from the Department of Physical Education and the Department of Applied Sports Industry at Yonsei University.

Adolescents with autism spectrum disorder participate in the program paired one-on-one with volunteers. As the volunteer demonstrates the movements first and offers verbal encouragement, the participating adolescents naturally experience interaction and cooperative relationships.

Through this, it is expected that students will develop interaction and communication skills and cultivate social skills, improve physical abilities through running and dribbling, develop cognitive abilities through shooting and passing, and gain emotional satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment through the process of acquiring skills.

In particular, the hospital explained that this program was launched with the active support of BTS's Suga (Min Yoon-gi), a basketball enthusiast and NBA global ambassador.

Cheon Geun-ah, Director of the Min Yoon-gi Treatment Center (Pediatric Psychiatry), stated, "The Min Yoon-gi Treatment Center's basketball-based Mind Play goes beyond simple treatment and aims to promote children's social skills and improve their motor abilities, with the goal of laying the foundation for improved quality of life and social independence in the future."

Meanwhile, the Min Yoon-gi Therapy Center at Severance Hospital has been providing social skills therapy using music for children with autism spectrum disorder. Late last year, the center held a "Mind Band" performance where children who had received music therapy played musical instruments. A second performance is scheduled for the end of this year. This music therapy process is documented in the "Mind Program" manual, which was published in March of this year.

🐨: Normal is a very sad song. I wrote the lyrics in Korean and then changed it to English for radio and stuff, but yeah, there is a Korean version of Normal. The guys have even recorded the Korean version. Idk if it will ever be out tho. Anyways, kerosene is oil that lights the bulbs. One day you love me, one day you say you hate me fine make me bulletproof, so that I won't die even if you shoot me. There was this keyword of Normal. But what is normal for us? As we live as BTS what is the normal for me? Someday ppl tell me that they love me and the other day they tell me to get lost just like a very toxic couple. Ppl put us high 1000 times and pull down 1000 times too.
"Two sides of a coin and they both ain't true"
Both sides aren't true. Why? Coz both sides are true and both sides are fake at the same time. There's no one who can explain this team called BTS.
"Wish I had a min just to turn me off"
Fine this is the life that I've chosen and all mistakes are mine but I can think about having a min of shutting off from the ppl. This doesn't mean that I wanna give up on my life but I can hope for ppl to forget me for a moment. I think that's the feeling behind writing this lyrics. Now that I see this song is really sad too.

We're accepting that we've chosen this fame. When we sing this song on stage we sing it as a happy song coz we're singing it together, coz this is the other side of the coin.
