With 1,300 Salvadoran troops reportedly already on the ground, at least two more chartered flights from El Salvador are scheduled to arrive in Haiti today. The numbers are likely to continue to grow.

The deployment is happening outside the GSF framework, tho how logistics are being funded remains a big question. Is the UN support office, authorized to support the GSF, now backing a bilateral deployment? Is Washington footing the bill?
