The GLC 43 was AMG's answer to people who wanted genuine AMG engineering without the full commitment of the GLC 63.
A 3.0L twin-turbo V6, 367 HP with AMG's Performance 4Matic sending 69% of torque to the rear wheels as standard.
That rear-biased setup is what separates it from most performance SUVs in this class - it doesn't just go fast in a straight line, it encourages you to drive it like a proper car through a corner.
0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, adaptive AMG suspension, and a cabin that is genuinely comfortable on long journeys.
The GLC 43 generation ended when Mercedes moved to a four-cylinder mild hybrid in the next generation.
The V6 went with it, which is why the X253 is worth paying attention to now, along with the GLC 63 which was still a V8 powered AMG.
Not a one man one engine type of AMG is the reason why people say why its not a real AMG.
