YA and fantasy writer looking for an agent. Loves way too many geeky things to list here, and wishes they still made fantasy movies like they did in the 80's.
So what happens when a group of superheroes find out they're fictional? Well, the 4th wall shatters completely, the villain takes advantage of it for his own ends, and the author gets trapped in her own story. Also contains running gags as important plot points #SFFpit#UF#A#SH
@Jenny_Trout Congratulations! (Hi, long time lurker, first time commenter). Also thank you for letting me know what Radish is, I just submitted a YA fantasy of mine. It'll probably come to nothing, but still, worth a shot, right?
Yesterday I finally had a woman go full #Karen on me while I was working. I mean, I've had people annoyed or upset before, but this was full on yelling and tantrum-ing. Fortunately (for her) she was the only one in the store, otherwise I'm sure she'd be making the rounds online.
You know, I thought I'd managed to actually make it through one New Year's without getting a cold. Sigh. Well, at least it's so far *knock on wood, universe please don't take this as a challenge* a fairly mild one. But seriously, every year, like clockwork. It's ridiculous.
@nick_candon Totally late to the party, but I'm surprised no one's added Selene or Luna or other moon (mostly Sailor Moon, admittedly) related names. Or I've had one in my back pocket I heard a while ago, I think it's Victorian: Christobel. There's a certain brittle taste to it that one.
@nick_candon Yeah, once it went from "Ow, my eyes hurt and are bloodshot and everything's a bit blurry, what allergy triggered this, I don't have time for this nonsense, I'm working Black Friday" to "It keeps getting worse, nothing is in focus and I'm getting scared" it was time seek help.
Oh yeah, the not seeing thing. Short answer, some kind of virus, taking meds, seeing doctors. Longer version, I felt like I was seeing through thick smoke since Thanksgiving. It got scary for a bit (and working Black Friday was not fun) but it's getting better.
Welp, I just realized now I totally missed the December PitMad, because I'm almost sure it was on the 3rd. Ah well, could barely see at that point, so it probably wouldn't have mattered anyway.
@nick_candon@ArkeryStark @cherikamei I also remember Fox Mulder for a bit, but I always suspected it was more you wanted to be a version of him so you got to hang out with Scully.
Also, on a completely different note, apparently a new season of Doctor Who started on Halloween, and I had...absolutely no idea. No one seems to be talking about it. That's so weird. But hey, now I know what to watch next.
All I'm saying is for out there in the same boat, find an insurance agent, I didn't even have to pay for it, all he'll get a kickback from the health insurance company I went with, and all he asked me to do was give him a good review on Google. Which I did, obviously. 4/4
So, in the course of today I've talked to my bank and the IRS about my stimulus checks, and signed up for new health insurance. The first two things were frustrating, and the third was all set to be, since the Covered site would not let me finish my application 1/4
They don't mention agents when you see the commercials for the Covered website. That is a vast oversight, because I'm honestly not sure I could have managed it without him, since the site refused to cooperate, and the phone number they gave me was no help at all. 3/4
@JulieGwinn I definitely appreciated all the feedback I got, it makes me see the work in a new perspective. And makes for work that will probably take me most of the winter, but I'm already excited about the new things I've come up with to add.
