-Lines and patterns and ways of shaping metal and machinery different from her own…but that worked.
In fact she could even see places to add her own touches. He was just building the scalpel, carving runes into the metal directly.
"It was ah…birth injury, an 𝕚𝕞𝕡𝕖𝕣𝕗𝕖𝕔𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟. At least as far as I can tell.”
It was plain in his words, he was an orphan. If it had happened at birth or if it was some injury before he was old enough to understand he would never know. He looked down at the brace.
-
gaze would advert around him —— looking at what he’d began but also letting him know she was there and all he needed to do was pass her whatever needed .
❛ dunno if it’s a touchy subject or anything but . . what happened . . y’know to your leg .ᐣ ❜

“Pass me…ah…a scalpel? Or similar?”
He was slow to connect to that it seemed. After all, his only real partner was typically Jayce who was a topsider. And…a politician.
But as he became more comfortable with Jinx…she began to see it unfold.
Things that made sense.-
-only one posed any real threat to the other, but he just kept working. Motioning for her to join in whenever she felt like it.
“Imagine it, no more fears of the undercity fissures flooding, Jinx. Despite the risks I used to quite enjoy swimming when I could manage it.”
She could tell that he felt the same way. Even as he busily began to work at some form of superstructure for a prototype of this device she could see he was watching her in the reflection of the metal.
On one hand was Jinx, and the other was Viktor. Out of the two-
-but Viktor began searching for and retrieving scrap metal and supplies.
He was serious about his goal. To make something that would genuinely help people, and he would happily team up with Jinx to do it.
After all, each could keep up with the other in this regard.
He just stood there for a moment, rail thin, ghastly looking, leaning on his cane with a sassy expression that seemed to ask “bitch, really?”
“I promise that there should be no stabbing.”
Both were Zaunites. Both had reasons to mistrust eachother-
2. I would wager tea, oh obviously he would like coffee but do you really think he gets it often? Tea he gets from Piltover…then a Zaunite equivalent would probably be like…yummy cave gas?
-that would make for a suitable tool for sump floods, would it not? A streamlined design, strong jaws for clearing debris…what do you think about working on a project together?”
“My apologies. I have only had very incidental encounters with her…”
His eyes glanced away, clearly he had hoped that reveal would put her more at ease but…judging by her reaction she almost seemed more on edge.
“Sharks…I believe a professor told me that they were-
-some of natures most 𝕗𝕝𝕒𝕨𝕝𝕖𝕤𝕤 creatures, that they have been mostly 𝕦𝕟𝕔𝕙𝕒𝕟𝕘𝕖𝕕 for generations…”
He suddenly seemed to space out, as though the comment arising in his mind was a kind of cognitive poison. He managed to shake free of his stupor.
“A shark…-
(READER) finds Viktor in a rare moment of solace. Sat on a bench in a small work, eating small bites of icecream he had made with a recent “flight of fancy”…hes smiling, the sunlight is shining against his dark hair.
He looks momentarily full of life…imagining a better future.
“Oh!”
Hes found a fruit tree! It’s technically publicly owned but…hes still a zaunite. Hes limping over to try and scramble up the tree to retrieve a few of the ripe fruits.
It certainly isnt easy, weak and frail as he is…and as long as (READER) doesnt tell they can have one!
