So preseason AP poll is out. LSU is ranked 11. I'm sure this year will be different....but lets look at years past for the AP Poll.
2023 Pre: 5 Final: 12
2024 Pre: 13 Final: NR
2025 Pre: 9 Final: NR
Sure, they got a new coach for a reason....but that rank is a bit generous.
@BYUSportsNation A little too much for me. I can see 1 of those happening...though if we lose to ND, we have to be competitive. If not, the only chance we have is winning the conference.
@BurnTshirtLifer@On3 Texas has proven just because they are stacked with players doesn't mean they are consistently good. They were stacked last year & we're super inconsistent. Tech was 4th at the end of the season last year, so I dropped them. Texas wasn't in the top 12, they've move up.
@dillard_doug Ranked wins are broken. Shouldn't matter if they are ranked when you beat them. Should only matter if they are ranked now. Too many "ranked wins" come from beating teams that shouldn't have ever been ranked.
@BurnTshirtLifer@On3 What? Texas? They were loaded last year, #1 in the preseason, and then were super inconsistent all season. Beating good teams and nearly losing to multiple bad teams. They may have the players, but they should have to prove it this year on the field.
@Audead0k@561jusvnn@On3 Texas was loaded last year, was #1 in the preseason. They proceeded to lose to Florida & OT w/ Kentucky and Mississippi. Then UGA beat em by more points than UGA beat any other P4 team. Texas was inconsistent last year & needs to prove it. No more rankings for having good players
@GhostofDaBear@On3 high on them? They lost their starting QB from last season and then dropped from 4th at the end of last season to 12th in the preseason. 8 spots for losing a QB is more than enough
@Metaleka_ I'm surprised Texas is top 10. Last year they were #1 in the preseason poll. They lost to Florida, went into overtime with Kentucky and Miss State, and UGA beat Texas by more points than UGA beat any other P4 team. Texas has to prove it, not just have good players now.
