PS: If you're a viewer, this affects you, too. YouTube is honing their bots to take out whole genres and thereby are telling you what you should find interesting and worthwhile. Instead of yelling at the creators, maybe it's time to start putting the pressure where it belongs.

As of yesterday, our 'inauthentic content' flag was reclassified to this. This isn't an isolated case. Another horror channel hit with the same 'inauthentic' label got the identical change. Horror creators are being targeted.

Have you heard of "Unsatisfying or off-putting content?" Neither had I until some of my narrator friends started seeing their reason for demonetization get updated to this. Seems it's yet another quiet policy change happening to further zero in on faceless, narration, and similar channel types.

Anything but transparency. Anything but clear guidelines we'd al be happy to follow. Anything but the authenticity they demand from us while enforcing policies with bots that don't know a human from a content farm.

I used to think YouTube was broken. I'm starting to think it's functioning exactly as intended.

If you're considering using YouTube, build your IP and use YouTube only for audience-building. There is zero reason to trust them the way things are. Do not put your monetary trust in this platform.
