My former account @DumptruckDuke got hacked by a nasty lil crypto bro, you can all follow me here, assuming my mom remembers how to do content creation 🤣
From Duke’s Mom:
Duke went peacefully, worn out from swimming so much at the pond this morning. He got as many bites of hamburger as he would eat, and with a final wag of his tail went to join Ole and Milo and Billycat and all the foster kittens that went before. 🧡
I know she knows I will come back.
And that grief is just a testament to the love one didn’t get to show.
Which feels silly because I know I’ve been so so so loved, how could there still be some left over?
You’ve all been great friends and I will miss you a lot. 🧡
Good morning, friends.
My tumor has started outrunning the steroids.
My body works well enough to jump in the car, and I still demand Mom’s chimken nugs even if I can’t keep them (or any other food) down.
I’m still acting happy but she can tell I’m uncomfortable.
It’s time.
She brought me to the park for swimmies, and I’m back to my “chase the ballies but leave them in the water to share with the other pups” mischief.
She says we are getting nuggets later.
And a lot of love from Nan.
Then we will go to see vetty for last hugs.
@WalterTheGolden Nan and DadNan! Well, really both of them are currently being bullied by the girls for daring to leave on vacation for a few weeks recently. They’re still in trouble apparently. 🤦🏼♀️
Steroids are working well and I’m still feeling pretty good. Lots of wags for mom and I’m even hungry for Real Dog Food. Other signs that my body is slowing down are happening but for now, it’s a good day.
BALLIE. IS. LIFE.
Nan’s pizza is also life.
So are Fat Angie’s freeze dried minnows.
So is dog kibble.
So is chicken and rice.
Safe to say the steroids continue to steroid. 🤣 We are taking the good days while we have them.
Steroids are doing a lot of heavy lifting and helping him feel as good as he’s felt in weeks, so even though they’re not a long term solution at all, he’s more comfortable, hungrier for (some) food, and generally able to keep it down.
Tail is still wagging, eyes are still bright
I’m going to go get him this afternoon to have some more nice times with his besties and then… we’ll take it day by day and call the home vet to come help him before things get too hard for him.
This sucks.
Thank you all for loving him.

Update: vet team consulted with his internal med team. There aren’t actually any good options that will be reasonable or respectful of our sweet old man. At best, treatment would AT BEST give us 6 months with him. And who knows what that 6 months would look like.
Hi all! I keep forgetting Twitter exists these days.
Since getting my arthritis sorted out earlier this year I’d been doing pretty well, then I suddenly started barfing a lot and not wanting to eat at the beginning of the month. Nan and DadNan took even took me to the ER!
The imaging studies done at the beginning of the month were “unremarkable” but we all know scary stuff in old pups can pop up quickly, so I guess this is the best way to move forward.
Mom is yelling for everyone who can swing getting pet insurance to do that please!
Mom handed them the pee sample and a printed run down of everything going on with me since my last visit there a few weeks ago, and we all decided the best option is to keep me overnight for meds/fluids and get an abdominal ultrasound in the morning.
