learn a person before you love a person because when you skip the understanding, love can turn into attachment to an idea, not the reality. when you don’t really know who someone is, you start filling in the blanks with hope, potential, or who you want them to be.
heartbreak steals your innocence. i remember being so deeply in love and so naive—there’s a bittersweetness when i think back, knowing i will never be that soft or vulnerable again.
one of my few regrets is not celebrating myself enough. not enjoying life. always choosing to wait until another time, when I have more time, more money, etc. and all it did was allow me to let years pass me by with every day being like the last, even days that should be special.
my therapist said “people who struggle with anxiety & depression can't remember a lot, bc they're too busy focusing on how to get through each moment so they don t actually experience what is happening to them, causing them to not form the memory they were supposed to” felt that.
a therapist on tiktok said…. “no one notices your sadness until it turns into anger, and then you're the problem. healing is realizing you became the angry person because no one saw your sadness first”
