I’m so tired of the ai doomerism and accelerationists. I hate that it’s infected corporate structures like the plague. Why did my whole job switch from software development to AI solutions out from under me…..
@hasen_95dx Those ideologies are more impactful for those that move up the management chain. So it’s important that you still show what impact you make.
It would be insane to me that anyone is relying on them to do their work. If you actually work with the tool, it’s very obvious what its shortcomings are. You can accelerate the work, but it’s obvious which parts are vibecoded and which aren’t.
The smart ones are rediscovering all the tools and practices we learned to deal with code. The others are yolo pushing to master and then wondering why they can’t share localhost.
behavior i've noticed in Claude (and Codex to some extent) is they're always trying to do the easiest fix rather than the correct fix, along with that are very pushy to merge
i know better than to listen to them, but makes me wonder what devs who don't are doing
@csjh__@mjackson I was thinking so too, i would need to read the article but it’s something I don’t love about rust where it doesn’t ship tokio or futures as part of the std
Everyone vibe coding apps with opus 4.6
Highly recommend you actually go through the codebase and read wtf this trash model is generating
If you dont know how to read code then good luck and God bless
im am this close to crashing out. every AI just does dumb stuff unless you are so specific you may as well code.
it can help for mass migrations once you've already done the shape and exact impl, and have a bunch of boring work.
im so sick of trying to wrangle it lol
@ThePrimeagen Not joking: after avoiding it for nearly fifty years, I had to learn vi today because it was the only text editor available on a system.
I thought you should know.
The Linux community of 20 years ago would've taken one look at AB 1043 and pushed an update that limited the network speed of every machine in California to 1 kbps until it was repealed.
Ai-generated artwork officially is ineligible for copyright protection as the US Supreme Court declined to review a appeal case.
The court rules that artwork needs to have a human creator in order to be eligible.

AI having the same branding as the stuff from the no code days is killing me. Trying to solve the general case of workflow automation is one that companies still struggle with even with tools to make it simple.
My college work wasn't all that difficult. My mental anguish was what was keeping me back. It's the number one thing I regret, the failure that I was in the middle of my college years. I pushed to get everything done in 4 years even though I had over 20 credit hours going into it
