Just a little over 10 hours left for voting in Minnesota today. Afterwards, join @ChasAnderson@TomCrann@Stowydad and me on @MPRnews for live analysis of the vote totals as they are being reported. The boss says we should expect to be on duty ‘til at least 2 AM.
🗳 Minnesota’s polling places are open until 8 pm tonight. You have the right to vote as long as you are in line by 8 pm. Find your polling place at https://t.co/rOjiR79fx7. #HereWeVote
In the past, when polls closed, politicians and social media influencers spread falsehoods about voting and the ballot counting process. It’s likely that we will see similar falsities this year.

Here are five election disinformation trends you should expect -- and warn others not to fall for:
1. Raw video voting/polls.
2. Vote totals will jump.
3. Premature claims of victory.
4. Last-minute AI-generated images/videos.
5. Partisan claims of fraud.

You know why polls are never going to be right — because they can’t predict the future!
But you can build a better future for yourself, your family and your country — that starts by voting.
Morning model update.
NYT swing state polls good for Harris but not great.
Morning Consult swing state polls good for Trump but not great.

JUST IN: PCE inflation declined to 2.1% (y/y) in September — That’s the lowest since early 2021 and basically at the Fed’s 2% target.
“Core PCE” (which excludes food and energy) remains at 2.7% for the past year. There was hope that would tick down as well, but it didn’t in September due to price increases in the service sector.
The takeaway: Inflation continues to tick down slowly. There will be bumpiness and we saw it in September
Whatever the Post thought it was accomplishing by not endorsing has been lost in a wave of public condemnation, ranging from “grave mistake” to “cowardice.”
Plenty of reasons to criticize “U.S. media.” But for several months, journalists from a wide range of news organizations have been covering how many former Trump cabinet members and staff oppose him and why. The McDonald’s stunt is a 12-hour blip that is already fading out.
It says everything you need to know about the U.S. media that Trump's clown show at McDonald's gets more attention that his former defense secretary and chair of the Joint Chief of Staff warning that Trump is a dangerous fascist with no respect for democracy.
Have you received something called the ‘Catholic Tribune’ in the mail?
It’s not from the Church.
It’s part of a “pink-slime” fake news operation to sway you.

No Minnesota men's pro team has reached the championship round in any sport since 1991. Since then, the Lynx have reached the WNBA Finals seven times, and they weren't even a thing until 1999. #wnba
@johnnyasheville This is the peak that Gopher fans should expect given the modest level of investment compared to peer institutions. You want to get serious about having a successful football program, then invest like it.
Not sure what else Fleck, or any other coach, can do until then.
As a whole, the “bunch a people who want better journalism” are struggling to engage constructively and distinguish their critiques and aspirations from the chorus of those in power who benefit from undermining a free press.

Maggie Haberman tells NPR that there is an "industry" dedicated to "attacking the media" from the left for its Trump coverage, which is "undermining faith" in journalism.
There is no such industry. Just a bunch of people who want better journalism.
