Sol T Plaatje passed away 94 years ago on this day. Listen to the voice of Sol Plaatje in this first recording of "Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika", made on October 16, 1923, in London, England, by Sol T Plaatje himself, accompanied by Sylvia Colenso on the piano.
Bethuna, please listen to this. A father and daughter enter into an agreement that the father will sell his house to the daughter. Fine, a deed of sale is drafted and they agree that upon registration of transfer of the property into her name, the daughter will pay the purchase price, R650 000.
Dear South Africa 🇿🇦
The @Our_DA plans to give the whole of Africa and eventually the entire world visa free access to South Africa regardless if it's reciprocal.
They also plan to remove laws for foreigners to protest & make it illegal for citizens to oppose open borders.

John Steenhuisen has been demoted to a Deputy Minister position. He will be replaced by Willie Aucamp as Agriculture Minister. This follows a request by DA leader Geordin Hill-Lewis. Steenhuisen will replace Alexandra Abrahams as Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition. Tune in to #eNCA on #DStv403 for more on this.
THE FAMOUS ID APPLICATION HOSTAGE THAT HAPPENED LIVE ON RADIO @Yfm@djsbu 👇🏿
Kabelo Thibedi is a man remembered for his dramatic hostage taking at a government office to obtain his long delayed identity document.
On the 30 November 2005 the 21 year old walked into the Department of Home Affairs regional offices in central Johannesburg and held a female staff member Lanelle Small, hostage inside an office for around six hours. Armed only with a toy gun, Thibedi demanded the immediate issuance and delivery of his ID book. His extreme action stemmed from years of deep frustration ,he had waited more than 2 years, submitted 9 unsuccessful applications, and had already lost a job because he lacked the required document.
The standoff captured national attention. Radio stations across the country received calls from listeners who expressed strong sympathy for his battle against bureaucratic inefficiency. While barricaded in the office, Thibedi called in the popular youth station YFM and spoke live with DJ Sbu, who suddenly found himself acting as an on air negotiator, trying to calm the young man and warn him of the potential consequences. The broadcast dramatically heightened public awareness, drawing thousands of supportive reactions.
To end the crisis Home Affairs officials arranged for Thibedi’s completed ID book to be flown by helicopter from Pretoria to Johannesburg. Once it was handed over, police used stun grenades to storm the room and arrest him. In 2006, he was convicted of kidnapping and sentenced to five years in prison.
He later appealed the sentence. In October 2009, the South Gauteng High Court backdated it, allowing him to avoid serving time in actual jail.
So now you understand the feeling of being expected to suddenly come up with money for something you never planned or budgeted for. You can't even raise a once off fund to assist with the repatriation of your own citizens, yet South Africans are expected to somehow find the resources year after year to accommodate the costs associated with large numbers of illegal aliens. Then, when taxpayers question the strain on public services and finances, they're branded xenophobic. Financial realities suddenly become important when the bill lands on your doorstep, but when South Africans raise the same concerns, they're told to stop complaining and carry on paying.
That is absolutely horrifying, but I am honestly not shocked by your posts. DA members and supporters are known for such.
When Dr Nasiphi Moya took over as Mayor of Tshwane, the DA leaked her phone number to their people and Dr Moya got texts being called all types of racial slurs and received threats to her life. At one point she even got her residencial address leaked by the DA.
The thing that annoys me about the xenophobia/afrophobia chats is that they call us coons but when they get here, they don't join us in our struggles against white economic domination. They don't believe in our hard fought labour laws or the right to black dignity. They're willing to take whatever job they can get for whatever pay and live in whatever conditions because they aren't "lazy" like us. They don't even push back against this "lazy" label we are given. They reinforce the idea that workers should be grateful for whatever they get regardless of the exploitation happening. Do they not see how this undermines the existence of black people in this country? It's reinforcing this idea in employers' heads that there's nothing wrong with exploitation, the locals are just "lazy". But I guess since this isn't their home, they don't care what state they leave it in?
Pleased to visit Chinese-operated shops and resturant serving the local communities and job creation in Pretoria. I encourage all Chinese businesses in SA to operate in full compliance, employ lawfully, enhance security and strive to deliver more benefit to South African communities.
