Thanks, pals!
We didn’t save #RiversOfAmerica—but I’m told this lil’ project struck a chord with some of the minds who helped build the magic ✨
That, along with everyone who reached out to say they appreciated what I did…
That’s been my greatest reward.

@mikesayswut Its omission was done because Robert Iger created a commission of individuals whose job it is to find issues… and that, is the issue. Stop encouraging a corporation.
Well, it took two minutes for me to change my mind. I saw the #CarouselOfProgress news and said, "This is the way to go."
Then I saw the decades they picked.
What progress are you really seeing from '85 to '99? Shouldn’t it have been ‘49, ‘69, ‘99, and possible future?
🤦🏼♂️
BREAKING: July 5 is the final day to experience the current version of Carousel of Progress at Magic Kingdom.
The attraction will reopen in 2027 with all-new scenes and decades:
• 1969 — moon landing
• 1985 — Halloween night
• 1999 — New Year’s Eve
• “The Possible Future”
@ScottGustin@BlankSamuel@dsnymike People ain’t upset at the change, just the execution. It was simple: start with Walt introducing his childhood era, move to the '69 moon landing, the millennium, and finally, the “possible” future. That’s how you honor the history of the ride.
Instead of going from ‘85 to ‘99.
@_TylerDean I think it would have made sense to keep the first scene original and then skip to 69, then 99, then the future. That way you at least save PART of Walt’s version while updating it for the future.
@SirBrayden@FiBelleFi Yes, we saw some other art and an example of a new physical prop. In fact, I think the 1969 scene was the best of the bunch and I really hope that is shared at D23.

I used to envision the show evenly expanding the decades. Nowadays, I'm more nostalgic, but—this is the way to go.
Sadly, it’ll be sanitized, erasing historical realities like Mother doing the wash or John's excitement for the first talking film.
“Well, that’s progress for ya.”
Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress is headed towards a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow ✨ You'll get to see John, Sarah and the whole family experience new decades, when the attraction is updated at Disney World in 2027 🗓️https://t.co/pRz5KCMqy8
